Catherine Ellis, PE, GE, M.ASCE Currently serving as the Branch President, Catherine Ellis, PE, GE has been practicing Geotechnical engineering for Kleinfelder in the Bay Area since graduating from the University of the Pacific with her Bachelor's degree in 1995. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. Catherine enjoys working on a variety of projects; her experience includes the San Jose International Airport Terminal Area Improvement Program (TAIP), the new Kaiser Santa Clara Medical Center, Santana Row, and various projects for San Jose Redevelopment Agency, Santa Clara Unified School District, Santa Clara Office of Education, Gilroy Unified School District, and Costco Wholesale. |

Raymond Wong, P.E., M. ASCE Raymond Wong joined the San Jose Branch Board of Directors in 2008. Raymond has worked for Winzler & Kelly since 2002 as a hydraulic engineer, focusing on hydrology and hydraulic analysis, and water resources engineering. Raymond graduated from Stanford University with a Masters degree in Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology. He is a Professional Civil Engineer in California, a LEED Accredited Professional, and member of the Community Emergency Response Team in the City of Mountain View. Raymond lives in Mountain View, and enjoys hiking and biking in his spare time. |

Janet Kan, P.E., P.G., LEED AP, M. ASCE Janet Kan recently joined the San Jose Branch Board of Directors and is serving as the Branch Treasurer. Janet has been an ASCE member since her graduation from the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2000. After finishing her bachelor degree in Geological Engineering, Janet worked as a Staff Engineer at a geotechnical consulting firm in Seattle for 2 years. To further pursue her education in geotechnical engineering, Janet moved to California in 2002 to attend the Master of Science in GeoEngineering program at the University of California, Berkeley. |

Karl A. Neuman, PE, GE, M. ASCE Karl Neuman is please to be the newest member to join the ASCE San Jose Branch Board of Directors serving as Assistant Treasurer. Karl has held engineering positions at Kleinfelder Inc., URS Corporation, and is currently employed at the Santa Clara Valley Water District. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of the Pacific, and a Masters of Science from the University of Nevada at Reno. Throughout his career, Karl has focused on geotechnical design for transportation, building infrastructure, and flood control projects. Currently residing in Menlo Park, Karl enjoys hitting the golf links and spending time with his wife and two dogs. |
